False Alarm Prevention

Guard Tronic is serious about false alarm prevention.

In early 2004, Guard Tronic implemented Enhanced Call Verification (ECV) to help reduce nuisance alarms.  Enhanced call verification is the process in which two separate numbers are called before dispatching the responding authorities on general burglar alarms.  The first call made is to the location of the alarm (premise number).  The second call made is made to the a responsible party, preferably the cell phone of the person most responsible for arming and disarming the system.  If no contact is made, or if a wrong password or passcode is given, then the authorities are dispatched.

We invite our customer with questions about this procedure to call the central station at (800) 542-7866 and ask for Jordon or Keith.

In addition to the implementation of Enhanced Call Verification, Guard Tronic also donates time and money to local and national associations helping in the reduction of false alarms.  For several years, Randy Perry, regional manager of the Springdale office, has served on one of the national association's Alarm Response Management Section, which is a committee of alarm professionals created with the expressed purpose of reducing false alarms.

We are also very active with the Arkansas Security Alarm Association, a member of the National Electronic Security Alliance.  We have teamed up with the False Alarm Reduction Association, an association of alarm administrators (work for city/county governments) that respond to alarms and deal first hand with the effects of false alarms.

We would ask that every Guard Tronic customer download a copy of their user's manual from the link at the bottom of this page.  Please review the arm and disarm sequence with every person that has a key to your building.  Please also review what each person is to do in the event of an alarm.
